VW van transporter dies at Irish airport

Volkswagen van transporter 3 cast has died at an Irish airport.

The company said on Monday the truck had been involved in a collision at St Patrick’s Airport in Galway.

It said it would “continue to work with the relevant authorities” to understand the cause of the accident.

Volkswagen said the accident took place at 2:30pm (local time) and that the driver of the vehicle, who was uninjured, had been transferred to hospital for further treatment.

Volkwagen said it was cooperating fully with the investigation.

Volkeswagen said on Sunday that it would introduce a new model of the VW van, the VW Tiguan, at the end of 2019.

The vehicle will be the first in a series of VWs to be produced in this way.

The first Tiguan was produced in 2016.

Volvo said on Tuesday it was investigating the cause and expected to be able to provide an update on the accident on Thursday.
