CHP: Three men killed in crash in the area of the Choptank Transport International Airport

Three people have died and one person is missing in a crash that took place at the Chopulank Transport Airport in northern Thailand.

The accident took place around 11:30am (AEDT) on Monday, when a white bus and a black van collided on the road between the airport and a shopping mall, local media reported.

The driver of the van was reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road.

He was reportedly killed on the spot.

The driver of one of the vans was reported to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Police have also released the names of the dead, who were identified as Ksenia Nongchak, 45, from Laos, and Khunthorn Khunthaok, 53, from Cambodia.

The three men were driving a black Hyundai van with the registration number P4-H3.

Police said they had detained two men from the country and had launched a joint investigation into the crash.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is investigating.

The incident is the second involving an international bus on the Choropank Transport international airport.

A bus in the same area crashed on March 30, killing a driver and a passenger.
